Advantage 2009: Advantage to target 10 million new customers

Advantage plans to target a further 10 million customers through marketing next year in addition to the 10 million customers it reached this year.

The consortium plans to continue and expand its marketing efforts, which include post code targeted mailshots, a tri-annual magazine with special offers and e-marketing, to attract new customers during 2010.

Speaking at the Advantage conference in Heathrow, sales and marketing director Colin O’Neill said the consortium would also seek to strengthen both its leisure and business offerings and ensure members get the best deals.

He said Advantage would implement the additional measures while the market continues to be tough.

He said: “Clearly we’re in a difficult environment; while one may argue there are green shoots of recovery it is going to be tough.”

O’Neill also urged members who were struggling to come to the consortium for help sooner rather than later. He said: “In desperate times we need to come together as one. If people are finding things tough, don’t wait (to ask for our help) until it is too late.”
