Intrepid creates new director of sales role for EMEA

The Intrepid Group has created a new role of director of sales and distribution for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region following a record 2018.

It is currently recruiting for the role, which will report into Aaron Hocking, EMEA regional director. The new person will sit on the senior leadership team and will be responsible for developing and implementing the sales and distribution strategy across all channels in the region.

Hocking said: “We had a record revenue year in 2018 and we’re creating some exciting new roles within the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior leader to oversee our sales and distribution strategy as we continue to grow.”

In August last year the group became the biggest travel company globally to achieve ‘B Corporation’ status in recognition of its ‘purpose beyond profitability.’

‘B Corp’ status is an external kitemark that recognises ethical businesses which combine profit with purpose. To achieve this status, businesses must reach standards for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Worldwide there are 2,564 B Corps, across 50 countries and 130 industries. There are 29, including Intrepid, in the travel industry, two of which are in the UK. The status originated in the US.
