Perfect Weddings Abroad is relaunching to the trade as a ‘weddings-only’ supplier to give agents more flexibility.
The company, which was founded by Perfect Weddings and Honeymoons director Helen Doyle and marketing director Danny Waine, started offering wedding packages to the trade in April 2008.
In the past six months, the agency has been selling its packages on a trial basis through a small number of Hays Independence Group members. However, Waine said the weak pound and economic downturn means many agents want to create their own packages and use the wedding planning service as an add-on.
He said: “For too long agents have been forced to book with operators who demand that wedding and travel arrangements are booked together, which doesn’t always result in the best deal.
“We’re offering agents a product that allows them to provide a great service to their wedding clients while still being competitive in a price-conscious marketplace.”
The wedding-only packages on offer to the trade from next week include summer weddings in Cyprus and Greece, luxury packages in Italy and winter weddings in Austria. Prices start at £399 and all packages are fully commissionable.
The company will also be hosting roadshows for agents aiming to sell the wedding-only packages. Waine said: “We’re looking to work closely with agents and to develop our business in partnership with them.
“Up until now, almost all of our wedding packages have been sold through our travel agency Perfect Weddings and Honeymoons, but we hope to be selling around 50% of our weddings through the trade within the next six months,” said Waine.
