Travel Weekly web editor Nathan Midgley will be offering tips on using social media at World Travel Market (WTM).
During WTM’s new Advice Clinics – Ask the Experts session, Midgley (right) will cover social media including Facebook and Twitter. He will advise on how to find out what is being said about your organisation online, and how to participate in and benefit from those online conversations.
Midgley has been blogging for Travel Weekly for three years and has a high-profile following on micro-blogging service Twitter and other social media platforms.
He will be part of a team of industry experts brought together by WTM to offer visitors 15-minute one-to-one sessions.
The panel is made up of experts from the airline, technology, responsible tourism and online marketing sectors, and will answer questions on serious business issues during the one-to-one sessions.
WTM chairman Fiona Jeffery said: “WTM is delighted to announce the launch of its new Advice Clinics – Ask the Experts session, which will cover a wide range of areas including technology, aviation, financial protection and managing a PR crisis.
“Experts in social media are difficult to find, so I’m sure Nathan will be inundated with people looking to tap into his expertise and experience.”
The sessions will run from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday November 12 in South Gallery Rooms 31 and 32.
Midgley will also be chairing a ‘Social Media for Marketers’ business session at 11am on Wednesday 11. Speakers are Tourism Queensland’s Jane Nicholson and iCrossing travel editor Jeremy Head.
