The Association of British Tour Operators to France has shortened next year’s conference by a night to meet member demand.
Head of public relations and development Patrick Daly said the two-night conference will be held from April 23-25 next year in the northern city of Lille.
He added: “The general sentiment among members is people want to spend less time out of the office and don’t necessarily want to be seen as going on a jolly.
“Next year’s conference is in people’s own time and is very easy to get to, although there will still be the same amount of conference sessions. There will also be additional excursions so delegates will be able to get out and see the local area.”
Daly said the conference will be held in the Hotel Barriere Casino de Lille, which is under construction and will be one of the first five-star hotels in France upon its completion.
Previously, hotels in France have been restricted to four-star luxe as the best rating.
