Elegant River Cruises launches China programme

Elegant River Cruises is expanding into China for the first time next year, selling itineraries that combine land-based tours with a cruise on the Yangtze River.

The brand, which is part of Connections, Titan Travel’s independent travel division, will be selling cruises on Victoria Jenna, which launched this year. It will also sell Victoria Prince and Victoria Anna, all owned and operated by Yangtze cruise specialist Victoria Travel.

Elegant is offering three itineraries, including a 19-day Grand China and the Yangtze tour on Victoria Jenna, which combines a four-night river cruise with time in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Xi’an, to see the Terracotta Warriors.

There is also an 18-day Wonders of China and the Great Yangtze tour, which allows for time in Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai either side of an eight-night river cruise between Shanghai and Chongqing.

A 15-day China, Tibet and the Yangtze tour sandwiches a three-night cruise from Chongqing to Yichang between time in Beijing, Xi’an, Lhasa in Tibet and Shanghai.

Prices start from £3,595 per person for the 18-day cruise including flights, UK and overseas transfers, 16 nights’ full-board accommodation in hotels or on Victoria Prince, and all excursions.

All three cruises feature in a redesigned second-edition brochure on sale now. There are free cabin upgrades available for bookings made by November 30, and £500 savings for clients who book by December 31.

Titan Travel was acquired by Acromas Holdings, the group that owns Saga, in October.
