Hays North West opens its 34th branch

Hays Travel North West has opened its 34th branch, creating six agency jobs.

About £70,000 was spent on refurbishing the Runcorn shop, which is in a shopping centre called Shopping City.

The mayor and mayoress of Halton – councillor John Bradshaw and councillor Marjorie – were guests at the official opening and performed the ribbon-cutting duties.

Hays North West has branches across north Wales and the north west of England, and aims to have 50 stores within the next 18 months.

Miniple Just Go became Hays North West when the UK’s largest independent agency, Hays Travel, took a 40% stake in 2015.

Leanne Knowles, manager of the new Runcorn branch, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the mayor and mayoress to officially cut the ribbon. We have received such a warm welcome from the community and the feedback about the store has been fantastic.”

The mayor said: “It’s fantastic to welcome this thriving, well-respected and independent travel firm to the town.”
