Star Clippers is offering three- and four-night mini-cruises in the Mediterranean on the 170-passenger four-masted sailing ship Star Clipper for the first time next summer,
Ideal for clients looking for a quick getaway to the sun, the three-night cruises are from Cannes to Monaco on May 22, June 12, September 4 and 29 2010, and call at L’Ile Rouse on the north coast of Corsica and St Tropez (the September 29 cruise operates the opposite intinerary the reverse direction).
The four-night cruises are from Nice to Cannes on May 22, June 12, September 4 and 25, and visit Monaco, Calvi in Corsica and Portofino in Italy.
Three-night cruises cost from £550 per person, while the four-night cruises lead in at £730 per person. Prices include all meals but exclude flights.
Meanwhile, Star Clippers has a new seven-night South of France cruise in May that stops off in Monaco for a day to coincide with the Grand Prix.
The 170-passenger Star Flyer will depart Cannes on May 15, anchor off Monaco on May 16, the race day, and then return to Cannes on May 22 via Corsica, Elbe and Portofino in Italy. Prices start from £1,179 per person cruise-only.
UK general manager Alison Repoulios said demand for the Grand Prix sailing will be high as accommodation in Monaco is hugely expensive while the race is on, and chartering a private yacht is beyond the reach of most people.
She said: “To be able to offer this exciting opportunity to British clients for 2010 is something really special.”
