Costa Cruises is to host its Champions at Sea event for its top-selling agents on new ship Costa Deliziosa on a five-day cruise from Venice to Savona in February next year.
Some 1,500 agents from around the world are expected to attend the event, from February 1-5, the first held on a new ship as it leaves the shipyard.
Costa Deliziosa is currently under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Venice.
During the cruise, which will call at Naples and Livorno, the port for Florence and Pisa, agents will be given details of Costa’s November 2010 to January 2012 cruises.
There will also be a gala awards ceremony with trophies presented to the Costa’s top-selling agents.
Costa Cruises president Gianni Onorato said hosting the event on Deliziosa as it left the shipyard was a perfect chance for agents to experience the excitement of a new ship and the Costa product.
He added: “It’s a tribute to those who help us every day to be Europe’s number one cruise company. It is thanks to their important contribution that Costa Cruises is recording very positive results this year despite the difficult economic period.”
Costa Deliziosa inaugural cruise is a 20-night voyage from Savona to Dubai on February 5 visiting Egypt, Oman, and Abu Dhabi, priced from £2,049 per peron including flights. The ship will be named in Dubai on February 23.
