Riviera Travel expands river cruise fleet for 2020

A new river cruise vessel is to be introduced by Riviera Travel as part of an expanded sailing programme for 2020.

The 169-passenger MS Geoffrey Chaucer will feature afine dining restaurant, sun deck with splash pool and putting green, bistro with panoramic windows and al fresco seating and a spa and wellness area with a nail salon and hairdressing.

The launch will bring the company’s fleet in Europe up to 13 ships as it seeks to build on more than 50,000 passengers expected to sail this year.

Fifteen itineraries on ten rivers and waterways feature in a new programme for next year.

MS Geoffrey Chaucer will run five itineraries including the Danube and Budapest to The Black Sea.

A new Vienna, Bohemia and Treasures of The Danube itinerary is being added for next year on the ship MS Thomas Hardy. Scheduled for July to September, prices start at £1,599 per person including return flights transfers, seven nights full board, daily tours and excursions.

National sales manager Tom Morgan said: “We are delighted to launch our 2020 European river cruise programme and anticipate another year of outstanding growth ahead.

“Our trade partners have been integral to this upward trend, particularly with regards to river cruising, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with them.”
