A director of airline investment firm Indigo Partners is joining budget carrier Wizz Air as a non-executive director.
Andrew Broderick has been a director of Indigo Partners since 2008 and has served on the board of several low-cost airlines.
He is a director of US carrier Frontier Airlines, JetSmart Airlines in Chile and Volaris in Mexico.
Broderick’s appointment comes as John Wilson resigned as a non-executive director of Wizz Air after more than 14 years.
William Franke, chairman of the eastern and central European low-cost carrier and managing partner of Indigo Partners, said: “I am delighted that Andrew Broderick has agreed to join the Board of Wizz Air.
“As Wizz Air moves into the next phase of its growth with the arrival of the game-changing Airbus A321neo aircraft and an order book of 254 new aircraft, his experience in aviation around the globe will bring added value and a valuable element to board discussions.”
