Clia River Cruise Conference returns to Amsterdam

The annual Clia River Cruise Conference will return to Amsterdam this November, the trade association has confirmed.

The two-day event – on November 10 and 11 – will take place in the Dutch city for the seventh time since it began nine years ago.

Last year, the conference was held in the centre of Paris.

The conference will host sessions, one-to-one meetings with senior cruise line executives, a trade fair and several river ship visits.

Andy Harmer, Clia UK & Ireland director, said: “Much has changed in the river cruise sector since the first Clia river cruise conference nine years ago, but continued growth and innovation have been constants.

“The unprecedented growth we’ve seen over recent years has been driven by the industry pushing the boundaries of what is available both onboard and ashore, creating entirely new river cruise experiences.

“At the centre of this growth is the support from travel agents, who gain knowledge and experience with each passing year by utilising Clia’s training resources and events such as the much-anticipated river cruise conference.

“This is a very exciting time for the river cruise industry and although we are seeing a healthy increase of passenger numbers year on year, there is still a huge potential for agents to attract new customers, both experienced cruisers and those who are yet to cruise.

“Delegates will hear about the latest selling tips and learn about the latest innovations and trends directly from industry experts, in turn helping agents to increase sales and drive the continued growth of this sector.”

Registration opens today (June 5). Clia travel agent members can register for their place via www.cruisexperts.org.
