New York City is to launch a new marketing campaign next month focusing on how visitors can get more from the city by taking advantage of deals in restaurants, hotels and attractions.
The campaign is being supported by American Airlines and American Express, and will include a continuation of the over-arching This is New York City brand message.
Visitor numbers from the UK to New York fell 18% from a record 1.328 million in 2008 to 1.088 million in 2009, a drop largely attributed to the dip in business travel and reflected across the US.
But bosses of the city’s promotional body NYC & Company said they remained bullish about a rebound from the UK on the back of a strong performance across all international markets in the first quarter of 2010.
Figures released at Pow Wow showed that 10.6 million people visited the city in the first three months of the year, 11% more than in the same period last year.
