Travel anti-fraud group Profit has appointed two non-executive directors to join the team working on its Fin intelligence system.
Stewart Chesterton, a co-founder of Traveltek, becomes development director and will work with owner David Rose to secure the Fin system and drive technical developments. He will be working on a new design.
Gerry Smyth, owner of Gas Communications, becomes commercial director. He was first introduced to Profit by a senior detective at the Metropolitan Police during Operation Neon/Chilton, which led to the conviction of Christakis Philippou who defrauded around 20,000 people between 2004 and 2006.
Fin, launched last year, is a database used to vet industry applicants to root out known fraudsters. Both Smyth and Chesterton will continue with their current roles.

Profit has also brought on board travel industry lawyer Joanna Kolatsis, of Themis Advisory, and accountant and IT specialist Maurice Taylor, of Brebners, as consultants. Both will attend board meetings.
