Flight Centre starters in Scotland stay on £12k

Flight Centre has confirmed that its new £18,000 starting salary introduced this month does not apply in Scotland.

Agents in Scotland queried the figure after Travel Weekly reported the £6k increase in starting salaries on June 25. The new pay deal means agents can earn between £25,000 and £26,000 including commission in their first year.

Managing director Chris Galanty said the six Flight Centre shops in Scotland would remain on £12,000 but a higher level of commission would be available to them.

“This was a decision taken by our Scottish regional manager,” he said.

“For the 30 Flight Centre agents in Scotland, their commission levels will increase so they will still have better overall earning power.”
