A special £1 return fare has been introduced by British Airways to mark the 75th anniversary of Newcastle airport.
The deal, which amounts to £75 when taxes and charges are added, is on sale until Sunday (August 1) and applies to travel between Heathrow and the North East in November.
The carrier is also deploying a 291-seat Boeing 747 on the domestic route on Monday as part of the birthday celebrations.
The jumbo jet will operate one of the airline’s six daily frequencies between London and Newcastle and is due to touch down at Newcastle at 11.10 before returning to Heathrow at 12.30.
