Abta has picked up an agency’s liabilities after Hays Travel took on two of its shops.
Ripon Travel ceased trading today following its acquisition by Hays.
Hays will take over operation of the Knaresborough branch.
Ripon Travel’s Ripon branch will close although all staff members will be kept on to work in another Hays branch, which it recently acquired from Ryedale Travel, in the town.
However, Hays has not taken on the liabilities of Ripon Travel, which traded under the name of Ripon Travel Worldchoice, and it is these which Abta has picked up.
Any retail claims arising from the failure of Ripon Travel Ltd will be handled by Cega, Abta’s claims handling partner.
