Shearings Group has appointed former Gold Medal sales and marketing director Ruth Connor as managing director of its holidays division.
Connor brings more than 10 years experience to the Wigan-based firm where she will report into group chief executive Denis Wormwell.
The appointment by the group follows those last year of Vince Flower, managing director of hotels and Graham Rogers, managing director of National Holidays and Caledonian Travel.
Wormwell said: “Ruth’s appointment is a crucial step in our development as a leading holiday specialist and we’re delighted to welcome her to the company.
“Her role will involve leading the strong team that we already have in place and helping the Shearings Holidays division to further realise its exciting growth plans.”
Connor added: “This is an exciting time for Shearings and I’m looking forward to this new role within the company, particularly the challenge of driving the business forward as it continues to evolve from traditional coach operator to over-50s specialist tour operator.”
