Abta appoints new heads for UK tourism committee

Shearings Holidays commercial director Caroline Brown has been appointed chairman of Abta’s UK tourism and leisure committee.

She succeeds Hoseasons head of sales Zena Calderbank, while Superbreak national sales manager Graham Balmforth replaces former Abta board member Bill Maxwell in the committee’s vice-chairman position.

Brown said: “I am delighted to be appointed chair of the committee. I am greatly looking forward to working with fellow professionals throughout the industry to shape and develop the future of UK travel and tourism.”

The committee, which aims to raise awareness of domestic tourism in the trade, has 17 members including Abta, Bourne Leisure and Visit England.
