Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s Jo Rzymowska has been appointed chair of the Passenger Shipping Association’s cruise section committee.
She succeeds Stephen Park, formally of Norwegian Cruise Line.
Rzymowska, the US cruise line’s UK and Ireland associate vice president and general manager, comes as a record 1.65 million Britons are projected to takes cruises this year, rising to two million by 2014.
She said: “This year we have seen the introduction of more than ten new ships offering a huge choice in the style of cruising including river, ultra luxury, family and traditional, all offering excellent value and great service.
“One in every ten package holidays booked is now a cruise and with the PSA’s 42 cruise line members offering even greater choice in ships and destinations, I’m convinced yet more people will be choosing to cruise.”
Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas, the largest cruise ship ever built, is being named on November 28.
