Fingers on buzzers for Aitoversity Challenge

Aito Specialist Travel Agents has launched this year’s Aitoversity Challenge to find the most knowledgeable agency in Britain.

Entrants will battle it out in a University Challenge-style competition which will see them undertake the first round online before meeting face to face in the semi-finals.

The finals will be held at the Aito STA domestic conference to be held in Warwick on January 15-16 next year.

The competition is open to the association’s 130 members, who have until October 9 to enter a team of four into the competition, which is being sponsored by the Tunisian National Tourist Office.

Oliver Broad, Aito STA’s newly elected chairman, said: “Having the backing of a major tourist board for our knowledge-based events the second year running is a ringing endorsement of the role of independent travel agents.

“Competitive bunch that we are, I’m expecting Aitoversity Challenge to be hotly contested as agents seek to show just who’s top of the class when it comes to travel.”

Moncef Battikh, head of promotions for the Tunisian National Tourist Office in London, added: “We are delighted to be working with Aito Agents as they represent the cream of the crop of the UK’s independent retail sector.”

This is the second year that Aito STA agents have been invited to go head to head on their travel knowledge. The first Mastermind competition was won by Journeys a la Carte sales consultant Claire Hunt.
