Holidaybreak ‘confident’ of strong financial performance

The strength of domestic holidays has been reflected by leading travel group Holidaybreak.

The company said it was “confident” of delivering a good financial performance for the year in contrast to Thomas Cook, which warned yesterday of cuts in the UK where it employs 13,000 staff.

Education, leisure and activity travel group Holidaybreak said it would announce its full year financial results for the 12 months to September 30 on December 1.

Ahead of that, the group is hosting an investor day for analysts and investors at its PGL outdoor education centre at Liddington, near Swindon, on October 19.

Holidaybreak said it “reiterates the guidance that it gave to the market on August 12 when it released its interim management statement seven weeks before the financial year end.

“Holidaybreak continues to perform in line with management expectations”.

The group runs four operating divisions with a focus on the UK through educational and activity trips for school children, short breaks in the UK and Europe as well as worldwide adventure holidays and mobile-home and camping holidays on sites in Europe.
