Nine members of staff from coach touring specialist Rabbie’s joined an environmental initiative recently to help a rare plant species return to a Scottish forest.
Partnering with the Borders Forest Trust, the colleagues joined a two-hour hike to Carrifran Wildwood area, near Moffat in the Scottish borders.
The team helped to plant 3,000 rare montane scrub species in an area where they will thrive and maintain the biodiversity.
The planting project is part of a regular series of volunteer days at Rabbie’s, which has seen staff helping to build paths and clean beaches.
Rabbie’s also fundraises for charities and has collected more than £120,000 since 2008, for causes such as Macmillan Cancer Trust, The Scottish Seabird Centre, Guide Dogs Scotland and Homestart Glasgow.
Furthermore, for every tonne of carbon it uses, the company donates £10 to a community or environmental project in one of its destinations.
Rabbie’s provides small group tours departing from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Aberdeen, London, Manchester and Dublin.
Starting in 2020, Rabbie’s will be operating across western Europe, in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland.
