WTM 2010 preview: Indian Ocean stands

Mauritius AS300

Beginners and experts alike should head along to the Mauritius Tourism stand, which will be handing out fact packs on selling the island, giving agents the lowdown on its relaunched trade-facing microsite and the exciting new openings going on across the island.

One of these is polo-related – head to the stand on Monday afternoon and you’ll have the chance to see a mystery polo celebrity, flanked by models in polo gear.

Maldives AS340

On the Maldives Tourism Promotion Board stand agents can enter a competition to win a trip there. The draws will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 5pm, and on Thursday at 4pm.

Also on the stand, Diva resort will be promoting its new experiences, including a snorkelling with whale sharks excursion, and its new wedding and honeymoon packages.

Seychelles AS350

Air Seychelles is introducing new flatbeds in its Pearl class service. Check them out on the Seychelles Tourism Board stand AS350, and meet 25 of its trade partners.

With new hotels such as Raffles on Praslin opening up, Emirates’ increased Dubai-Seychelles service, and visitor arrivals up 12% year on year, there will be lots of news.

Sri Lanka AS450

Expect an upbeat Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau at stand AS450. The country topped the Post Office’s Long-Haul Holiday Report as the cheapest destination on the ground. Also find out about new openings from co-exhibitors such as Jetwing and Amaya Resorts.

India AS250

To find out what makes India so incredible, head to stand AS250. The country’s minister of tourism will reveal the latest from the country and chair a press conference followed by traditional Indian afternoon tea.

While on the stand, register your interest for a fam with Zuri Hotels and Resorts and find out about very generous discount rates on personal stays between May and October.
