Aquatica waterpark in Orlando has announced a duelling water slide named Riptide Race.
The slide, which will be the first-ever duelling water slide in Florida, is due to open in 2020.
Riptide Race allows riders to sit in rafts and race down side-by-side lanes from a 68-foot tower. Each raft holds two people and riders can glance across low walls to suss out the competition as they navigate tight loops through indoor and outdoor sections.
David Heaton, Aquatica Orlando vice president said: “Riptide Race will offer a ride experience you won’t be able to get anywhere else in Florida. Aquatica will be the first waterpark in the state to have a thrilling, and more importantly, duelling water slide.
“Riptide Race is the perfect addition to our attraction portfolio, complementing what is already one of the most family-friendly water slide lineups in Orlando.”
Riptide Race will have a height requirement of 42 inches and will be located on the north side of the park next to Banana Beach Cook Out.
Agents can book tickets as part of the Discovery Cove Ultimate Package which includes a one-day reservation at Discovery Cove and 14 days unlimited entry to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Aquatica Orlando.
