Solmar Villas has appointed Sophie Milner as its first-ever trade sales executive in a bid to to grow the sale through agents.
Milner has experience as an account manager and joined Solmar Villas in July to develop the company’s concierge department before taking on the new trade role. Prior to that, she did account management in media sales.
The company plans to double the volume of trade sales it makes over the next 12 months.
Milner said: “The villa experience is certainly proving popular with holidaymakers keen to avoid crowds and sunbed hogging, whilst also ensuring more quality time as a family.
“Travel agents are now picking up on this trend and we are keen to support this by offering our trade partners a dedicated service to help them secure the perfect villa for their clients.
“We have enjoyed a 57% increase in trade sales and expect this figure to double this year, boosted by having the dedicated resource in place and the online investment.”
Julie Blake, managing director of Solmar Villas, said: “We have always recognised the importance of travel agents and the appointment of Sophie further strengthens our commitment to this incredibly important part of the UK holiday market.”
Solmar Villas offers 600 properties across the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cyprus, Croatia, Greece, Italy, mainland Spain, Malta, Portugal and Turkey.
Solmar plans to increase sales to £28million over the next 12 months with Istria and Tenerife on its new list of destinations for 2020.
