The Croatian Ministry of Tourism is hoping to sign contracts with a number of tour operators and airlines by January in a bid to increase UK arrivals.
The Croatian National Tourist Board already works closely with Tui Travel and has arranged a meeting with Thomas Cook today to encourage the operator to add more Croatia product to its programme.
Croatian Minister of Tourism Damir Bajs said strong working relationships with tour operators was key to success in the British market.
Bajs also said he was hopeful that airlines such as Ryanair and easyJet will add more flights.
While UK arrivals to Croatia were up 4% year on year in the first 10 months of 2010, the minister said he hope to achieve at least the same number next year, despite his predictions that next year will be particularly tough as many destinations fight to reclaim their share of the returning numbers.
Bajs added that the UK market is particularly attractive to Croatian as Brits for a significant time and spend far more than the average guest – only outspent by Russian visitors.
