Traveltek is developing technology to power multi-lingual sites and a transactional smartphone app ready for launch in the early part of 2011.
The firm has already taken a step into the international powering Cruise1stautralia and cruise shop Malta.
But Frank Docherty, sales director, said there was growing demand from travel agents in the UK who want to expand to overseas markets.
Docherty would not reveal the name of the agent Traveltek is developing an app for, but said it would be transactional as well as offering search.
The app, which will be available for Traveltek customers to white label is due to be launched in the first quarter of 2011, he said.
“The cruise market is growing. We are seeing a lot of inquiries and we have introduced different models from bespoke template white label sites to a fully bespoke solution.”
Docherty said that cruise bookings were still coming through but that just 10% of sales are purely online among travel agents with a website, the rest are researched online and converted over the phone.
Traveltek has just taken on Neil Welsh, who previously worked for the failed Birmingham agency Travel Value, as regional sales manager.
Docherty said Traveltek is still to hear what will happen with the lowcostcruising.co.uk site that it powers after the Lowcost Travel Group bought Ideal Cruising last week.
Under the deal Ideal, which has its own inhouse technology based on the Amadeus API, will run the Lowcostcruising brand but Docherty said he did not know whether it would remain a Traveltek customer.
