Star Clippers unveils inaugural itineraries for flag ship


STAR Clippers will launch its flag ship, Royal Clipper, in May 2000 with a summer season out of Cannes and a winter season out of Barbados.



The five-masted vessel will be the world’s largest sailing ship when it is launched in the Netherlands in April and will be one of the most luxurious tall ships afloat. Most of its 96 cabins are outside and a 24hr butler service will be available in its 14 deluxe suites. It will also have two luxury owner’s suites.



The ship will operate two separate itineraries out of Cannes. The first itinerary will call at Porquerolles in the Hyeres Islands, Mahon, Minorca, Palma in Majorca, Barcelona, Palamos and St Tropez.The second itinerary takes in Calvi, Bonifacio, Costa Smeralda, Sardinia, Elba, Portofino and Monte Carlo.



Prices start at £1,060, including £115 port taxes. In the Caribbean, Royal Clipper will carry out two seven-night cruises.The first calls at Martinique, Iles des Saintes, Antigua, St Kitts, Dominica and St Lucia.



The second calls at Martinique, Marigot Bay,St Lucia, Bequia, TobagoCays and Grenada.



Prices start at £975 for an inside cabin, £2,330 for a deluxe suite or £3,005 for an owner’s suite.
