Cruise and ferry industry expert Kate O’Hara has joined the business development team at Port of Tyne as commercial director.
She previously held senior leadership positions at Teesside and Leeds Bradford airports, the Port of Dover and more recently as chief executive of London City Cruise Port.
O’Hara was also chair of Cruise Britain, a board member of Visit Greenwich and an active member of the council of management of Cruise Europe.
South Shields-based Port of Tyne chief executive Matt Beeton said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Kate to the team. She brings extensive experience gained in the aviation, hospitality and the maritime sector and will play a key role in achieving our Tyne 2050 strategy.”
O’Hara added: “It’s an exciting time to join the Port of Tyne, and I am looking forward to working closely with the commercial and executive team in helping to deliver our ambitious and exciting transformation agenda across our core business streams.”
