Gold ATM installed in Vegas hotel

The Golden Nugget hotel in Las Vegas has installed an ATM which offers gold instead of cash.

The ‘Gold to Go’ is the second in North America and the 15th on earth – the first was at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The machines update prices every 10 minutes and offer gold bars of various weights and gold coins.

Tilman Fertitta, chief executive of the hotel’s parent company Landry’s, said: “We’re proud to be the first in Vegas to offer this amenity.

“We offer our guests the ultimate Las Vegas experience and what’s more fitting than an ATM that dispenses gold, especially since the Golden Nugget is home to the Hand of Faith, the world’s largest nugget of gold.”

Every gold bar is made up of 24-karat gold and each comes with a money-back guarantee.

Inventor Thomas Geissler said: “Thousands of hours of development, lots of tinkering as well as the heart and soul of our fantastic team were invested in GOLD to goTM.

“I am so pleased that we are now present in the United States, following the great successes in Abu Dhabi and Europe.

“Providing easy access to physical precious metals for the average person at fair prices, both online and offline. That continues to be my aim.”
