Lufthansa cabin crew consider wage proposal

Lufthansa and its cabin crew have until 5pm tomorrow to accept a new proposal aimed at solving a wage dispute, a spokesman for the crew’s union UFO told Dow Jones Newswires.

Mediator Heide Simonis put forward a new proposal after the two sides were unable to reach agreement on Sunday evening.

The German airline is seeking a salary freeze to lower staffing costs and is offering job guarantees in return.

The union has demanded better pay and improved conditions for the 16,000 cabin crew employees it represents.
