Experience It Now Travel celebrates fourth shop opening

Sussex-based Experience It Now Travel welcomed MP Caroline Ansell to a launch party for its fourth shop.

The agency, which is part of Hays Travel Independence Group, opened the store in the Langney Shopping Centre in Eastbourne, Sussex, in January.

Conservative MP Ansell (pictured) joined staff, business owners and Experience It Now Travel customers to celebrate the latest addition to the agency’s portfolio last week.

Since March 2018, Experience It Now Travel has opened shops across Sussex in Newhaven, Peacehaven, Seaford and now Eastbourne.

Experience It Now Travel said its new site used to be the home of a Co-Operative Travel store before the shop closed in June 2017.

Agent Kim Thompson used to work at the original site before joining Thomas Cook for two and a half years until the travel giant’s collapse last year.

She said: “After one of the worst weeks of my life I then applied and got a job with Experience It Now Travel.

“I am extremely happy that directors Caroline and Richard Light decided to expand to a fourth shop and chose this one in Langney.

“Since we opened in January, we have had so many customers coming back to see us – even if it’s just for a chat.”

She added: “I felt like I had come home. The response and support from the local community has been amazing and I’m just as happy as they are to be back in the centre doing what we do best.”

Business development manager Michelle Avenell said directors Richard and Caroline Light said had bold expansion plans, but currently no other new sites have been identified.

Currently, Experience It Now Travel employs eight agents across the four shops, plus two in the marketing team and Avenell.
