Agents offered big commission to push new Trump suites

Luxury New York city hotel Trump SoHo is offering travel agents 15% commission for bookings of its new penthouse suites.

The 46-storey glass tower hotel, which opened last April, has added 11 penthouse suites.

Ten of them feature two bedrooms, giving the hotel more two-bedroom penthouse suites than any other hotel in Manhattan. The penthouses include a living room, dining room and kitchen area.

Normal commission for agent bookings at the hotel is 10%.

Trump SoHo director of sales and marketing Sharon Telesca Feurer said: “It’s so important for us to have the travel industry out there as our advocates and promoting individual properties. We rely on travel agents as an extended sales force.”

Each penthouse is slightly different. One of its two-bedroom suites, on the 33rd floor, has a pool table, California king-sized bed, and a high-end audio and video system.

The hotel is promoting its 2,300 square foot terrace penthouse for hosting private events. Rising from the 43rd to the 44th floor it boasts double-height, floor-to-ceiling windows, an outdoor terrace of nearly 400 square feet, and views of Manhattan. It is the only suite with a terrace.

Two-bedroom penthouse suites start at 2,800 US dollars per night.

The hotel’s spa opened in late summer and the property also offers three spa suites.

Located between New York’s financial district and midtown, Trump SoHo markets itself as the first luxury hotel in downtown Manhattan.
