Silversea reveals new groups policy for UK agents

Agents are being targeted with an improved groups programme by luxury Silversea Cruises. The new Group Amenity Point programme covers 2012 sailings.

Each departure has been assigned a set number of points (ranging from 8 to 21), which agents can redeem for a variety of special group amenities. The new programme is designed to enable agents to design packages best suited to the interests of their group travellers.

Additional savings (5-10 points), onboard spending credits (2-10 points) or suite upgrades (6-15 points) are available. Points can also be redeemed to host a private event or mark a special occasion with dinner.

Agents must have a minimum of three suites or six passengers in the group. All bookings in the group will receive the same amenity or amenities. The line’s UK senior vice president Trudy Redfern said: “This is one more tool we’re giving our travel agent partners to help them increase their sales and income.

“It’s important for agents to market to groups in order to expand their client base, and with only six guests required to qualify as a group, this new programme provides a great menu of amenities and benefits that will help them sell more easily.”

The GAP programme does not cover cruises on expedition vessel Prince Albert II.
