ALAMO WORKS ON WEB SITE FOR OPERATORS


Alamo is developing a Web site where its tour operator customers can access details about their car-rental sales and download images of rental vouchers in case of queries. The site, which will be password protected and have separate areas for each account, is planned to be ready by the end of the year.


BUDGET OPENS US ELECTRIC RENTAL BASE


Budget has opened a second electric rental location in the US, at Sacramento Airport, California. It first launched last December at Los Angeles Airport. Cars are able to travel up to 100 miles before having to recharge. There is no cost for recharging. Rentals start at $44 a day.


EXECUTIVE CAR RENTAL OPENS OVERSEAS OFFICES


Executive Car Rental has opened its first overseas offices, in Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Bahrain and Houston, Texas. The offices each have their own network of agents using the CarQuote Windows-based booking system and trade under the InterCar auto rental brand name.


AVIS LAUNCHES HOLIDAY CARS BROCHURE


Avis has launched its 1999-2000 Holiday Cars leisure rental brochure for agents. It contains details about the fleet and hints on how to match a customer to the right car.
