MSC Cruises extends suspension of sailings until July 10

MSC Cruises is extending a fleet-wide cancellation of sailings until July 10 – just ahead of the start of many UK school summer holidays.

The line previously announced the temporary halting of all its ships globally through to May 29.

UK and Ireland passengers affected will receive an extra 25% future cruise credit to be used alongside a voucher for the full amount of their cancelled cruise.

The vouchers can be applied to future sailings until the end of 2021.

MSC Cruises has also extended the dates for rescheduling departures as part of its flexible cruise programme to include sailings between July 11 to September 30 this year “to provide additional flexibility at this uncertain time”.

The scheme allows passengers who are already booked to reschedule their cruise to a future departure date through to December 31, 2021.

“Guests and their travel agents will be able to transfer any such bookings at no cost, to any ship with any itinerary in the MSC Cruises fleet,” the line said.

The line is also offering refunds but these may take up to 120 days following submission, according to its website.
