Norwegian Cruise Line has appointed Kevin Bubolz as interim general manager for Europe after the unexpected departure of Micheal Zengerle to rival MSC Cruises.
Zengerle was appointed to the role in October last year following the departure of UK general manager Stephen Park, who was based at the line’s London offices in Hammersmith.
The line had opted to merge the head office operations in Germany and the UK, with Zengerle running the UK but based in Wiesbaden in Germany.
NCL said the surprise departure of Zengerle last month will allow it review the structure and Bubolz, formerly head of revenue management for Europe, has been brought in on an interim basis.
The line hopes to make a decision on the long-term structure within around two months. Zengerle will officially start as chief executive of MSC Cruises in Germany at the line’s Munich headquarters on June 1.
