Australia to inspire group bookers with ‘Live from Aus’ weekend

A virtual travel experiences weekend organised by Tourism Australia will target event planners with inspirational ideas and content.

The national tourism board has announced plans for Live from Aus on May 15-17, a curated educational and entertainment programme.

Across the two days new content will go live each hour from 10pm on the Friday until 12pm on the Saturday and from 9pm on the Saturday to 12pm on Sunday.

Tourism Australia said it will offer a “glimpse of what’s possible for future incentive events in Australia”.

The weekend will include a range of exclusive travel experiences, highlighting the country’s culture, natural beauty, food and drink, wildlife, and the ‘Australian personality’.

Tourism Australia managing director, Phillipa Harrison, said the broadcast aims to keep event planners inspired and engaged for when it’s safe to send groups to Australia again.

“Even though demand for travel is currently on hold and the timing of the recovery is still uncertain, it’s important that we continue to engage with business event planners around the globe,” she said.

“Our goal is keeping Australia front of mind for event planners by using this enforced period of self-isolation to engage with people in their living rooms, feed their escapism and inspire them to plan for travel again once the restrictions start to lift.”

The Live from Aus program schedule will be released on May 8 on www.australia.com , on the tourist board’s YouTube channel and on Facebook via  https://www.facebook.com/SeeAustralia/events/

People can catch up on content they missed on Facebook and YouTube.
