Luxury Asian group Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is to open its first city hotel in Abu Dhabi. The 224-room Eastern Mangroves Resort and Spa by Anantara is due to open in the first quarter of next year.
The property will form part of an integrated hotel, marina, retail and residential complex with bedrooms and suites across five levels plus seafood, Thai and all-day dining restaurants, and a rooftop lounge.
Further facilities will include a spa, gym, terrace and infinity pool, ballroom and conference facilities.
Senior vice president Peter Carmichael said: “Abu Dhabi is already a travel and tourism hub within the Middle East, and this is set to continue with 69 million tourists per year expected by 2020.
“This presents a huge opportunity for Anantara within central Abu Dhabi, and as the only luxury hotel within the protected Eastern Mangroves district which is just 15 minutes away from the airport and 10 minutes away from the city centre.”
Anantara has 15 stunning properties in Thailand, the Maldives, Bali and the United Arab Emirates and will see new openings in Vietnam, China, Bali, Thailand and Abu Dhabi this year ahead of the Eastern Mangroves resort.
