British Airways is to offer flights from London City Airport to the new leisure destinations of Faro and Malaga year-round.
The airline is also adding more frequency to Nice, Palma and Ibiza this summer. The moves mean that BA is running 39 flights a week to sun destinations during the summer.
The four times a week service to Faro and the three times a week flights to Malaga are now both in operation and will run year round. The existing Nice service has been increased to double daily flights until September. Flights to Ibiza and Palma will rise from four to ten a week between July and September.
Flights are operated by BA subsidiary BA CityFlyer using the new Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft. Commercial manager Luke Hayhoe said: “We first launched leisure only flights from London City last year in direct response to demand from our customers.
“They proved so popular, particularly during the summer months that we have decided to expand them further this year. The addition of two extra aircraft to the fleet means we can also offer year round services to the summer and winter sun destinations of Malaga and Faro.”
