Norman Gage, one of the most colourful figures in business travel, has announced his retirement.
Advantage Travel Centres director of business travel, Gage will retire at the end of October. He has been at Advantage for 15 years and in the corporate travel sector for 40.
Gage played a key role in establishing Advantage’s successful Focus Partnership and recently introduced a business consultancy service for the consortium’s corporate travel members – a service he will continue to provide on a part-time basis.
He won an outstanding achievement award at the Business Travel Awards in 2009.
Gage said: “I have had a fantastic career, but I am looking forward to having more time to spend with my family, especially my grandchildren, as well as football coaching, gardening and enjoying my collection of books.”
Advantage chief executive John McEwan paid tribute, saying: “I’d like to thank Norman for all his enthusiasm over the years. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends. We wish him all the very best.”
