Cruise Information Service fact sheet

THE Cruise Information Service has launched a fact sheet for travel agents giving information on different types of cruise-and-stay holidays offered to the UK market.

The organisation said the chance to combine a land-based holiday with a cruise is growing in popularity, with almost every cruising area now covered.

Passengers can choose from options including pre- and post-cruise tours or breaking their cruise with a land tour, leaving the ship to spend a couple of days exploring the destination, then rejoining the ship.

Cruise Information Service director Bill Gibbons said: “Cruise and stay is a good option for the first-time cruiser who might feel they will be a bit confined on a cruise ship.

“It allows holidaymakers to get the best of both worlds, giving them the opportunity to see and do as much as possible, both at land and at sea.

“It makes sense for passengers who are planning to cruise in a faraway region.”
