Great Rail Journeys extends small group tour programme

Great Rail Journeys is offering small group trips as standard across all its UK and European 2021 rail tours.

The escorted tour operator introduced a small group programme in 2018 and has extended it to UK and European rail tours following “overwhelmingly positive feedback” from customers.

Each tour will have a maximum of 25 people and the groups will be accompanied by a dedicated tour manager.

The smaller size means customers will be able to stay in more characterful hotels, move around the sights more easily, and experience places and journeys only available to smaller group tours.

Great Rail Journeys’ 2021 brochure features established holidays and new tours, with destinations ranging from the Austrian and Swiss Alps to Scotland and Wales.

Peter Liney, chief executive of Great Rail Journeys, said: “The extension of the [small groups] programme, which now sits as standard across all our UK and Europe itineraries, was an obvious next step for us as a business, following the fantastic feedback received from our customers.

“This sets us apart from our competitors who offer a range of group sizes across their full product offering, so travellers can’t always be guaranteed a more personal experience.

“We continue to work closely with all of our suppliers – from our family-run hotels to rail companies and our excursion partners – to ensure that customers continue to have the perfect holiday, meticulously planned from start to finish by our team of experts.

“We look forward to our first European tours departing in August to Germany, Switzerland, Italy and around the British Isles.”
