Flooding prompts consulate closure in Chiang Mai

Flooding in Chiang Mai in Thailand has forced the closure of the British Consulate “for safety reasons”.

Travellers are being advised to contact the British Embassy in Bangkok if they require consular assistance.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office also advised people to visit the Help for British nationals page of its website while the consulate is shut.

The British Embassy in Bangkok can be contacted on +66 (0) 2 305 8333.
