Heather Haggis appointed finance chief for Advantage Financial Services

The Advantage Travel Partnership has appointed Heather Haggis as head of financial services at the consortium’s insurance broker Advantage Financial Services (AFS).

Haggis will oversee Advantage Financial Services, which is wholly owned by the Advantage Travel Partnership and is an insurance broker for industry-specific products and services.

Her first role will be to carry out a full audit of AFS’ current offering to find ways to add value and diversify the product offering for Advantage members.

The Advantage Financial Services team is responsible for sourcing members with competitive deals for their business to meet Abta membership requirements, Atol and Iata licensing as well as products to protect businesses against the financial implications of supplier failure and unforeseen circumstances.

Haggis, who was previously business development manager at AmTrust Underwriting, a specialist travel and health insurance company, and before that worked as the international trading underwriter for Aviva, said: “Despite the current market conditions, I believe there are new opportunities in the market place for robust and agile companies such as Advantage and using my experience I intend to grow its proposition to service the travel agent and travel operator’s suite of insurance and risk management needs.”

Advantage Travel Partnership chief executive Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “We are delighted to have Heather join our team and her wealth of knowledge and experience in delivering complex multi-national insurance and regulatory-heavy solutions will be a welcome addition to Advantage Financial Services.

“In such tumultuous times, our members may be reassessing their insurance requirements and evaluating how to build profit and growth to support their recovery and having Heather on board will provide our members with that added level of expertise.”
