National Holidays new parent JG Travel Group has appointed Chris Allen as product manager across its short breaks, sports and family trips portfolio.
JG Travel Group, which bought National Holidays in July, also owns touring brands including Just Go! Holidays and Omega Breaks.
Allen has 30 years experience, most recently as head of sporting breaks at National Holidays under the now collapsed Specialist Leisure Group. Prior to that he worked for UK and Europe coach specialist Travelstyle until 2016 when it was acquired by National Holidays.
In his new role, Allen will be responsible for product for short breaks, sporting breaks, family and tribute product development and delivery.
JG Travel Group director of product and operations Paul Mason said: “The appointment of Chris brings a wealth of senior level experience in sports and family short breaks.
“We will now be able to build an incredible portfolio of breaks and events for our broad customer base across our brands.”
The move follows the recent appointments of Claire Dutton as trade sales manager and Julie Wilson as groups manager, who both previously worked for National and Shearings’ former parent SLG.
Allen said: “This is a great opportunity to join a growing travel business and to use my experience to broaden the range of short breaks. The selection of new tours and events that we will continuously build will give travel agents a great offering for their customers.”
