Carnival Cruise Line is extending its pause in departures from Australia until December 2 because of continuing Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Departures for Carnival Spirit and Carnival Splendor had previously been suspended until October 29.
Other Carnival Corporation brands have also announced further cancellations.
P&O Cruises Australia is extending its pause to December 2 and four ships will see cruises cancelled: Pacific Adventure, Pacific Explorer, Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria.
Princess Cruises is suspending operations in Australia until December 12, which affects cruises throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Sture Myrmell, president of Carnival Australia and P&O Cruises Australia, said: “It is clear that society is not yet ready to return to sailing and we will continue to liaise with governments and public health experts as all align on how people should gather and holiday.
“Like our loyal guests, we remain hopeful that the start of summer will bring new opportunities for the entire travel and tourism industry, which contributes so much to many regional economies around Australia.
“We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of our guests who are looking forward to being back onboard as much as we are.
“In the meantime, we are trying to provide guests with as much certainty as possible and flexibility around their bookings while we all wait for the day when cruising resumes.”
The company is making contact with affected guests and travel agents.
