Wizz Air carried 2.4 million passengers in August – down by 41% on August 2019, but an improvement on July.
Last month the low-cost airline operated at 80% of its normal capacity, with a load factor of 71%.
The airline carried just over 1.8 million passengers in July – down by 53% on July 2019.
Its monthly passenger numbers have been rising since a low of 78,000 in April, when coronavirus lockdown restrictions took full effect.
In May it carried 127,000, and June saw numbers reach 502,000.
Last month, the airline announced new bases at Sheffield Doncaster and Gatwick airports in the UK, as well as new routes in Italy, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.
However, Wizz Air revealed on Tuesday that Covid-19 travel restrictions across Europe may force it to ground part of its fleet this winter.
Rival low-cost airline Ryanair also revealed August traffic figures on Wednesday.
It flew seven million passengers in August – down by 53% year-on-year but an improvement compared to July, when Ryanair flew 4.4 million people.
