Sheena Darby quits Co-op to join Midcounties

Sheena Darby is to leave The Co-operative Travel Group to join Midcounties Co-operative.

Staff were told in an email this week that Darby, head of sales and operations at The Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors, the group’s homeworking division, was leaving for “personal reasons”.

Trevor Davis, director for specialist businesses for the Cook-Co-op joint venture, said: “Sheena wants to progress her career and has chosen to do that with Midcounties.
We wish her well.”

A replacement is being sought.

Darby’s decision follows other senior departures including Mike Greenacre and Alistair Rowland. E-commerce chief Neil Hardy left in June to join Midcounties.

Midcounties Co-op chief executive Ben Reid said Darby would join in January to head its homeworking division.

Midcounties has not joined The Co-operative Travel and Midlands Co-op in the retail joint venture with Thomas Cook.
